Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) Analysis

Computational Fluid Dynamics ( CFD) analysis is based on a set of numerical computational methods that allow fluid flows to be simulated. This phenomenon is described by the Navier-Stokes equations which, except for very simple flows, cannot be solved analytically. CFD has therefore taken on a prominent role in solving these problems, reducing the need for prototyping and scale tests, such as in wind tunnels.

The most common software for these simulations are Ansys Fluent, Ansys AIM and FloEFD, which allow you to obtain, for example, the flow velocities, temperature distribution and pressure of a fluid. From this, Kot has already developed solutions for optimizing geometries for internal flows, aerodynamic optimization of profiles, simulation of flows in free conduits, quantification of heat loss from equipment, heat distribution in convection ovens, among others.

In addition, computational fluid dynamics is used, if necessary, as an aid in other services performed by the company, such as the analysis of aerodynamic and hydrodynamic forces acting on the structures analyzed by Kot. This method is called Fluid-Structure Interaction (FSI).
