Conceived and created by Professor Ihor Kotchergenko, Procal is Kot Engenharia's in-house finite element software. Its features allow analysis to be carried out in a more agile, assertive and targeted manner.
The software allows you to create models of steel, concrete and mixed structures. It is mainly used to calculate truss structures, stringers, towers, transfer houses, process buildings, bridges, walkways and the like. As an in-house development tool, Procal is optimized to meet customer needs and allows Kot to create and use customized modeling, calculation, export, import, verification and results visualization resources.

Some functions
Creation of frame, shell and solid elements, allowing the modeling of a wide range of engineering problems;
Library of catalogs with different types of sections, such as "I", "U", "T", angle, HSS, reinforced concrete sections, as well as profiles with custom dimensions or a generic section;
Application of nodal loads, concentrated or distributed in the elements, with linear, triangular or trapezoidal variations in all or part of the element and gravitational forces in frame and shell elements and application of pressure in shell elements;
Definition of temperature variation in elements, representing the effects of expansion or contraction of structures;
Definition of elastic bases or defined settlements, making it possible to account for the influence of supports on the analyzed structure, when applicable;
Visualization of the structure's displacements (in color scale or deformed structure), stress and strain diagrams in shell elements.
Technology
Updates and integrations
Procal also has a development team that ensures that the program is constantly evolving to adapt to changes in standards, customer specifications and market trends. One of the most recent updates is the one that allows the automatic calculation of wind in structures according to the ABNT NBR 6123 standard of 2023.
The software has import and export interfaces with different applications, such as: FEMAP, ANSYS, SolidWorks, BIM via IFC files, VRML (virtual reality markup language), as well as internal tools and spreadsheets.
