Analysis using the finite element method

The Finite Element Method (FEM) is used by Kot Engenharia to analyze problems and propose engineering solutions. It consists of discretizing or dividing the domain into a finite number of elements that interact with each other, allowing problems involving various engineering disciplines to be solved, such as structures, thermal, fluids, electromagnetism, or even multidisciplinary analyses(multiphysics), for example, thermo-structural.

Applications of análise por elementos finitos include linear, static, dynamic, flexibility, stability, connection and fatigue analysis. This type of simulation must be carried out from the three-dimensional model in CAE(Computer Aided Engineering) software, such as Nastran, Ansys and PROCAL.

Nastran(Nasa Structural Analysis) and Ansys are commercial programs that are widely used and internationally recognized. PROCAL , on the other hand, is software developed by Kot Engenharia since 1991 to solve structural problems in accordance with the AISC, NBR6123, ISO5049-1 and FEM standards. It has features specially developed for calculating large machines, handling and transporting materials, as well as various metal and civil structures.
