FINITE ELEMENTS ANALYSIS
The static and dynamic structural analyses performed by KOT Engineering are based on the Finite Element Method (FEM). This method is based on the discretization of the problem domain into small finite elements that interacts with each other.
This method is able to solve several problems involving engineering fields such as:
- Structures;
- Thermal dynamics;
- Fluid dynamics;
- Electromagnetism;
- Multiphysics analysis.
KOT also utilizes ANSYS, NASTRAN and PROCAL3D as structural solvers that use the Finite Element Method (FEM).
FEMAP/NASTRAN
FEMAP/NASTRAN (NASA STRUCTURAL ANALYSIS) is a commercial CAE (Computer Aided Engineering) software , widely known and extremely reliable.
ANSYS
ANSYS is a commercial FEM software well recognized and largely used by the scientific community to generate and solve FEM models.
PROCAL3D
PROCAL3D ia a software developed by KOT Engineering to perform structural calculations of steel super structures according to AISC, NBR6123, ISO5049-1 and FEM standards.
The software has special tools for material handling machines, including structural verification and automatic wind loading application.
