STRUCTURAL DYNAMICS
Kot Engineering provides dynamic and vibration calculations for structures that withstand cyclic loads at frequencies near to their natural modes, which may cause vibration with high amplitudes.
The operational risks resides in the fact that dynamic and vibration loads can be significant, and most of the times, if a structure is only dimensioned for static loads, but is subjected to critical frequencies, they are prone to an accelerated degradation process, and even collapse.
Some examples in which dynamic loads can be significant: towers and tall buildings subjected to wind, offshore production facilities, tall chimneys, pumps and piping supporting structures.
Kot Engineering offers dynamic and vibration solutions, such as:
- Modal extraction;
- Forced vibration;
- Harmonic and spectral analysis;
- Modal superposition.
The dynamic loads in belt conveyors are calculated using the Software HELIX Delta-T Dynamic Analysis. This software considers all mechanic components of the conveyor, including: electric motors, reducers, couplings, belt stiffness, idlers and pulleys.
