Non-linear Analysis

Non-linear analysis is necessary when the deformation of the structure changes the direction of the applied load, which happens when the displacements caused are large.

The analysis of the transportation of materials or goods in a port, for example, makes it possible to identify possible bottlenecks in the system even before operations begin. The interaction between the various pieces of equipment is not trivial, and involves the statistical distributions of equipment availability, atmospheric and maritime conditions (swell), as well as other operational conditions.

The use of software such as Plant Simulation enables project optimization, with greater planning efficiency, layout optimization and equipment selection. It is also possible to adjust the operation to maximize production and reduce maintenance costs.

The tool can be used to evaluate the entire production process, from complete industrial complexes to a single stage or station in the system, with as much detail as necessary or depending on the availability of data.

CASE

NON-LINEAR CRASH ANALYSIS

Carrying out a study to check the safety level of the cab of a truck model required modeling the structure of the cab and applying impact loads in accordance with the standard.
The aim of the study was to increase the safety level of the truck cab, offering greater protection to the operator. The 3D model was designed and simulations were carried out in order to reproduce the crash tests carried out by the manufacturer. The loads, determined in accordance with the standard, were applied using non-linear analysis software.

In order to maximize operator safety, a ROPS (Roll Over Protective Structure) structure was developed. The aim was to develop a tubular structure with a reduced number of components so that it could be lightweight, simple to manufacture and easy to assemble in the existing cab.
